Minnesota essay(presentation)

I participated in a homestay program in Minnesota last summer. This is my first time to go abrord, so I was excited and nervous. However, I like Minnesota soon. Minnesota has a lot of beautiful nature. There are so many lakes. I was surprised that there is a lake in my school!

State capital of Minnesota is St. Paul and the biggest city is Minneapolis and the population of Minnesota is 5,059,375. (2003) There are White American, about 88%, Black American, 3.5%, Hispanics and Asian American, about 3% and so on. There are many kinds of races.

I'll talk about St. Paul. The population of St. Paul is 287,151. There are many social facilities, for example, Minnesota State Capitol, History center, and Cathedral of Saint Paul is one of the biggest cathedral all over the world. My host family lives St. Paul.

I'll talk about Minneapolis. The population of St. Paul is 382,618. Minneapolis is modern city. We can see many high buildings there.

Mall of America is the biggest shopping mall in America. there are about 400 shops! We can enjoy not only shoppoing, but also aquarium, The Park at MOA, and movie theater. I went there theree times during my stay. It is next to the air port, so many people visit there.

I could spent a good life in Minnesota. I could enjoy my life in Minnesota. Minnesota makes me happy and gave me a lot of power. I want to visit Minnesota again!

University

There are many students in Kumamoto Gakuen University and I think that they enjoy spending their school life. There are a lot of conveniences in my university. Many students belong to some clubs. Students who have free time after school have some part-time job. Students spend a full school life.

Kumamoto Gakuen University is one of the most lively schools in Kumamoto. There are about 7,000 students there and the campus is always alive with them. There are many students in cafeteria, stand, or library. I think KGU is one of the most vibrant schools in Kumamoto.

There are lots of conveniences in my university. For example, library, bakery, convenience store, beauty salon, and the travel agency. The library is used for finding some books, doing their assignment, listening to music, or watching some movies. I often go to the library when I have some assignments and I like to go to the bakery after school. I go to convenience store to buy something eat for lunch sometimes.

There are many kinds of clubs in KGU and many student belong to some clubs. Most of the club activities are done on every Wednesday. They usually go driving, play bowls, or drink. People who belong to some clubs say "Club activities cost some money but it is fun and members of the club are like my family!". I don't belong to any clubs but I think club activities seem to be fun.

Most of the students of KGU have part-time job. They work at restaurants, bars, convenience stores, and so on. I think students want some money to go and eat out with their friends or someone. Most students work in evening and night. I think part-time job is good to make friends out of KGU and to learn about society.

★Kumamoto★

I'll write about Kumamoto(^_^) Especially my favorite places.

Kumamoto still has a rich natural environment. Mt. Aso is very good place to feel them. There is the biggest caldera in the world. It takes about an hour from my house to Aso by car and sometimes I go to there with my family, my friends or my boyfriend. I like to stop by a cafe or a place where can see good view.
Kumamoto castle is popular as one of the tourist attracion. It was built by Kiyomasa Kato 400 years ago. It is frequented by tourist or the people of a prefecture all the year around.

I also like downtown in Kumamoto because there are many clothing shops or something interesting shops! I like the shop "Village Vanguard". There are many interesting goods! The concept of the store is "book store where we can pray".
I can drive a car, so I go out to the suburb, too. My favorite shop is "Yoru Cafe". It takes about 30 minutes to the restaurant from my house. I have been there twice but I like there very much! The cooking there is very very good(*´ω｀)/ I took my boyfriend there last month and he enjoyed the cooking and atmosphere very much.
There are a lot of nice shops or restaurants near my house and it's a short walk to a shopping mall! I often go PIETRO that is near my house and my friend work part-tome job there. It is a specialty store of pasta.
